CMA Module 3 UAE DFSA Law & Principles

Hey guys, spending my weekend grinding the CMA Module 3 Regulatory Framework and wanted to give a heads-up on the UAE DFSA section. A lot of people focus on AML and CFT rules, but make sure you actually understand DFSA Law No. 4 of 2004, specifically Sections 32-36 on Financial Crime. That’s usually where the heavy marks lie. The other trap is glossing over the *General Principles of Business Conduct* found in RPS 214 (REMI). In the past papers I reviewed, I saw a lot of questions that mixed DFSA principles with generic corporate governance questions, and that tripped me up. Don't try to memorize every single function of the DFSA; just know the structure—Gatekeepers, Regulated Facility Providers, and Market Intermediaries—and focus on the specific duty of skill and care. You can pass the regulatory side without stressing over every single fine; you just need to understand the logic.

Forget the theoretical lectures; if the rule doesn't explicitly dictate a fine or a jail term, the examiner won't ask about it. Just memorize the numbers and move on.

spent the last 6 hours staring at the regulatory framework and honestly i think sections 32-36 are just filler compared to the actual risk control standards required for the IISI exam. my view is that the memorization of these specific law paragraphs is a waste of mental energy when we could be focusing on the core concepts of market abuse in the CME modules. do you guys think the new UAE FRR updates from 2023 actually matter for the regulatory syllabus this year or is it just textbook fluff again

Yeah, honestly, drilling down into actual statutory text usually pays off more than surface-level summaries since the examiners love testing those specific clauses for big marks.

Totally agree, thought the rules would be the easy part but totally wouldn’t be surprised if the exam bites us for skipping the dry law text.

jeddah time but exams arent fun. section 32 36? boring. Hey Fast_User weed out the weak. The laws are the only thing that doesn't change year to year but salaries do. Stop looking at CME market abuse if you haven't even mastered the DFSA fines. oh god dfsa law is giving me such a headache i panic when i see this much regulation text here. surely there must be an easier way to cram for cma module 3 without reading pages of rules. can anyone confirm if icwim covers the legal side or should i just brute force memorize like silent said? i used exams.academy/certifications/undefined/ to help with my last module and it passed so hopefully this helps
