Kuwait Sharia Suitability vs Saudi CMA Standards

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I have just moved to Kuwait to start my new compliance role here. I am currently deep into my revision for the ICWIM Level 3 and the UAE FFR, and I am struggling to grasp the specific distinctions regarding product suitability requirements between Kuwaiti bank regulations and the Saudi CMA standards. It seems like the thresholds for the content of advising differ significantly, and I am not entirely sure if the licensing requirements are fully superseded by the new CME-1 framework or if there are still specific local nuances I need to know for Dubai exclusive firms.

Good luck with the ICWIM prep. You will find that the Saudi CMA framework is the cornerstone of these studies yet the Kuwaiti requirements demand a deeper interpretation of Shariah principles when determining acceptable product suitability. Hang in there because balancing work, residency and ICWIM revision is a beast.
