Global Operations Management is a three-hour written paper. Section A contains compulsory short answers worth 25%, Section B is one compulsory case study worth 35%, and Section C requires two answers selected from five questions worth 40%.
No. It is a narrative written assessment requiring concise factual answers, applied case-study analysis and discursive professional communication. Section C may ask for reports, memoranda or letters.
CISI states that the final GOM sitting is 26 November 2026 and strongly recommends that Winter 2026 sitting for resit candidates only. Candidates should confirm their eligibility directly with CISI.
Not by itself. The current route also includes Level 3 Operational Risk and Level 4 Managing Operational Risk in Financial Institutions. CISI says candidates who pass GOM have until 31 December 2027 to complete the remaining Diploma requirements.
The official manual estimates approximately 200 hours. It also advises that candidates should have relevant practitioner experience, training or exposure to an operations environment.
