From PDF to listening

Bring your workbook.
We find the start.

No need to turn a book into a script or generate the whole workbook before you can begin.

  1. Choose your course and upload

Use your own English PDF with selectable text, up to 50 MB. Scanned or image-only PDFs are not supported.

  2. Try the start of Chapter 1

The reader finds the first study chapter automatically. Listen to up to 2,250 words free, rather than starting with the cover or publishing details.

  3. Add the reader when you are ready

Unlock the remaining chapters for that course. Your saved workbook and study items stay in the same reader.

Your workbook is not a summary.

Before you upload

Can I try my own workbook before paying?
Yes. Choose your course, upload your PDF and try the start of Chapter 1. We find the chapter automatically, skipping covers and publishing pages. The free preview covers up to 2,250 words, about 15 minutes, and lasts 7 days. No purchase is needed to try it.
Which workbooks are supported?
Use your own English course workbook PDF with selectable text. The limits are one workbook per course, 50 MB, 1,500 pages and 200,000 words. The PDF needs identifiable chapter headings or chapter bookmarks. Scanned or image-only PDFs are not supported.
Is this the same as the course audio?
Workbook Reader is an optional add-on that reads aloud from your own PDF. Course audio summaries and audio flashcards, where available, remain included in your course’s Audio section, with or without Workbook Reader.
Will I see the original pages?
Yes. Original view displays your PDF pages; Reader view gives you reflowed text. Narration follows extracted text rather than an AI summary. Check formulas, charts and complex tables on the original page, as PDF extraction can affect their reading order.
How much does the full reader cost?
Add Workbook Reader for $39 on top of the course price when buying a course, or $49 later if you already own that course. This is a one-time add-on for that course, not a subscription. Upload your own workbook to listen.
Who can access my uploaded PDF?
Your PDF is stored privately to provide the reader. Sharing a copy with the Exams Academy team is a separate, optional permission that is off by default. You can withdraw that permission from the reader. Other learners cannot browse or download your upload.

Pause after a section, explain it without the text, then check your understanding with questions.
