For many candidates, the overwhelming anxiety leading up to a CISI qualification exam causes them to make unforced errors before they even sit down at the computer. Strict security protocols at testing centers (like Prometric) mean that forgetting a single required document can result in you being denied entry, forfeiting your exam fee entirely, and having to reschedule weeks later.

Here is the ultimate, foolproof checklist to ensure your CISI exam day runs perfectly, smoothly, and without any unnecessary stress.

The Mandatory Document Checklist

Do not pack these items in the morning. Adrenaline and rushed mornings lead to forgotten wallets. Pack everything the night before.

1. Primary Identification

Your ID must be an original (no photocopies or digital phone scans), unexpired, government-issued document featuring your photograph and signature.

• Valid Options: Passport, National Identity Card (e.g., Emirates ID, Saudi National ID), or a physical Driver’s License.
• CRITICAL: The name on your ID must match the name on your CISI registration profile exactly. Even a missing middle name can cause severe delays.

2. Secondary Identification (Just in Case)

While Prometric usually only requires one primary ID, network outages, unreadable chips, or worn-out signatures occasionally occur. Bring a secondary ID featuring your signature (like a signed bank debit or credit card) as a safety net.

3. Exam Confirmation Email

Print out the confirmation email sent by Prometric or the CISI showing your appointment time and test center address. While staff usually only need your ID to look you up in the system, having the physical confirmation speeds up check-in if there is a system lag or a scheduling dispute.

What is Strictly Prohibited?

Prometric test centers act like airport security. If you bring unauthorized items into the exam room, your test will be instantly invalidated for cheating, and you may face a permanent ban from taking future CISI exams.

You cannot bring:

• Personal Calculators: The testing software provides a built-in onscreen calculator. Personal scientific and financial calculators are strictly banned to prevent formula storage and cheating.
• Watches: Even standard analog watches are frequently banned and must be placed in a locker. You must rely on the exam timer displayed on the computer screen.
• Water Bottles and Food: Unless you have a pre-approved medical exemption, food and drink must remain in the outer locker area.

The Flagging System
